British GT Championship organisers have confirmed revisions to the provisional 2027 calendar, with the season opener and the prestigious Silverstone 500 both moving dates ahead of the new campaign.
The opening round at Snetterton will now take place on 10-11 April, two weeks earlier than originally planned. The adjustment has been made to avoid a scheduling conflict with the FIA World Endurance Championship, which is set to return to Silverstone next year.
Snetterton’s event will mark a milestone for the championship as the Norfolk circuit hosts the opening round for the first time in British GT’s 35-year history. Competitors will contest a pair of one-hour sprint races to begin the season.
A second amendment affects the Silverstone 500, traditionally one of the highlights of the British GT calendar. The three-hour endurance race has been brought forward by one week and will now be held on 7-8 August following a request from the circuit. The event had previously been scheduled for 14-15 August.
The revised schedule retains six meetings and eight championship rounds, combining sprint and endurance formats across the season. Following the opening weekends at Snetterton and Oulton Park, teams will travel to Belgium for the championship’s only overseas event at Spa-Francorchamps in June. The Silverstone 500 remains the headline endurance race of the year before the campaign concludes with two-hour contests at Brands Hatch and Donington Park.
