Ford is testing its Hypercar at Imola this week as preparations continue for its 2027 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) debut. The Italian circuit is the latest stop on an extensive European programme, and it follows straight on from the two-car test at Monza at the end of October.

In Ferrari’s backyard

Ford is testing at Ferrari’s home track. The two brands fought for Le Mans glory in the 1960s, and the two manufacturers will meet again in the Hypercar class next season. Imola has also become a familiar venue for the new arrivals in the class, with McLaren running its MCL-HY there for three days in May.

Aragón up next

The next major step is Ford’s first dedicated endurance test at MotorLand Aragón in November. Ford will also reveal the car officially on 26 November, before testing moves to North America with COTA and Sebring on the schedule.
