Daniele Di Amato will be making his Italian GT series return this weekend as he heads over to Misano World Circuit for the second round of the Italian GT Sprint Championship. The 30-year-old driver from Rome will participate in this weekend’s two sprint races behind the wheel of a Pro-classed RS Racing prepared Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo.

Di Amato will also team up with Alessandro Vezzoni for the next round of the Italian GT Endurance series, the duo having previously participated during the last two editions of the national series.

“I am really happy to make my return to the Italian GT Series because this year the championship is of the highest level, I have this opportunity to race alone in Misano in the Pro category and, for this, I am very motivated,” said Di Amato.

“The team is well established, but it will not be easy, because in Misano it is very difficult to make a difference in terms of riding and set up difficult. Furthermore, this year the competitiveness of the riders has risen a lot and so it will be really tough, but the toughest challenges are the best ones that I like.

It will be important right from free practice to get the car back in hand immediately after I haven’t driven it for a while, find the right set up and then push everything down right from qualifying. In Misano with so many cars the traffic component will be the one to manage, but as usual we will give our best both as a team and as a driver.”

Free practice for the Misano race weekend will take place this Friday, 4th June, with qualifying set to follow at 10:00 local time and 10:35 on Saturday, 5th June, ahead of race one around 18:20 local time. On Sunday, 6th June, race two will commence at 15:20 local time.
