In a session that started wet it took some time for the fast laps to be set and it wasn’t until the dying minutes of the session that the pole time was set. A number of fast laps were also made redundant right at the end of the session after Lucas Auer in the #6 Haupt Racing Team Mercedes AMG GT3 brought out the yellow flags after spinning into the barriers at the top of the Döttinger Höhe.

For much of the session it was the #911 Manthey-Racing Porsche 911 GT3R of Jaxon Evans and Thomas Preining that held the top spot after a blistering lap of 9:01.555 which put them over half a second ahead of their nearest challenger, the #55 Landgraf Motorsport Mercedes AMG of Patrick Assenheimer, Luca-Sandro Trefz and Julien Apothéloz.

In a mixed up field third place was held by the SP-X #53 True Racing KTM X-Bow GT2 of Reinhard Kofler and Max Hofer which would eventually finish the session in P5 with a lap of 8.58.316.

It wasn’t until the final 10 minutes that times really started to fall as a dry line started to appear with Kuba Giermaziak being the first to post a time under 9 minutes with a lap of 8:59.444 in the #16 Scherer Sport Team Phoenix Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II he shared with Kelvin van der Linde. The time held for a little more than a minute before being topped by Alessio Picariello driving the #30 Dinamic Motorsport Porsche 911 GT3 which he shares with Adrien De Leener.

The second Manthey-Racing Porsche the #74 of Denis Olsen and Mateo Cairoli briefly took pole position with a lap of 8:54.449 before Stippler beat the Porsche time by 1.392 with his lap of 8:53.057.

With the track neutered by Auer’s stranded Mercedes no one else was able to complete a time to beat the #7 Scherer Sport Team Phoenix Audi.

Elsewhere the SP9 Pro-am pole went to the #17 PROsport-Racing Aston Martin Vantage GT3 of Maxime Dumarey and Christop Breuer in P10 overall. Just behind them in P11 was the  CUP 2 pole sitter, the #112 KKrämer Racing Porsche 911 GT3 Cup of Karsten Krämer,
Christopher Brück and Moritz Kranz who set a lap of 9:10.267.
