After racing with Frikadelli Racing in 2020, Porsche development driver Lars Kern is back aboard the #911 Manthey Porsche 991.2 GT3R ‘Grello’ for this year’s Nürburgring 24 Hours. Having won the VLN Nürburgring Endurance Series season-opening race followed by a string of top ten finishes, the team is going into the Eifel classic as one of the top-favourites. Lars shares the popular neon-coloured Grello with Kévin Estre, Michael Christensen and Matteo Cairoli.

Lars Kern: “In general, we are happy with our situation. The car is running well, everybody’s comfortable and we played around with different tyres today.

“The atmosphere is relaxed, and this is always a good sign going into a 24-hour race.

“Me, myself and I needed some time to adapt to the night driving, but it’s also a different situation in quali compared to the race. I’m not the guy who takes any risks in free practice. Maybe sometimes it would be better to experience the outer limit free practice as well, but I kind of need the pressure of the ongoing race to fully commit.”
