Audi Sport Italia Team has confirmed the driver line-up for the second Audi R8 LMS GT3 for the 2021 season of the Italian GT Championship. After the confirmation of Vito Postiglione and Edoardo Morricone in the Sprint series, with the addition of Filip Salaquarda for the Endurance rounds, it has been announced that Riccardo Agostini and Lorenzo Ferrari will share driving duties in the second #12 Audi R8 LMS GT3 for the Sprint series rounds, while Mattia Drudi will join both drivers for the Endurance races.
The Piemont-based team has assembled a promising line-up which has been in the making since last December, when Agostini and 18-year-old Ferrari took victory at the 6 Hours of Rome together with Singaporean Sean Hudspeth. After being rivals during the 2020 series, both Agostini and Ferrari will team up to defend the Audi colors in both the eight Sprint races and the four Endurance rounds.
The 2021 Italian GT season is set to kick off at Monza with its Sprint series rounds from 30 April-2 May, while the Endurance season will start at Circuit Enna-Pergusa from 21-23 May.
