The #61 EBM Porsche 911 GT3R has been disqualified from qualifying at the 2026 Meguiar’s Bathurst 12 Hour following a technical breach relating to rear wing height.
The EBM entry of Riccardo Feller, Laurin Heinrich and Klaus Bachler had initially qualified 15th. However, post-session scrutineering found the Porsche’s rear wing ‘Z Position’ measured between -16mm and -17mm.
Under the current FIA GT3 Balance of Performance document, the minimum permitted wing height for the car is -10mm, with a tolerance of +/-5mm. Even allowing for that margin, the car was outside the legal range.
After repeated measurements by both officials and the team – who ultimately conceded non-compliance – the Stewards imposed the standard penalty for a technical breach: disqualification from Qualifying – Part 1.
As a result, the #61 Porsche will start 34th and last on the grid for Sunday’s race.
It means two Pro contenders line up deep in the field, with the Mercedes-AMG Team GMR entry also set to start 30th after a ‘power-related issue’.
The 2026 Bathurst 12 Hour gets underway Sunday morning at 05:45 local time.
