YRB Racing is set to make its IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship debut this weekend in the Sahlen Six Hours of The Glen at Watkins Glen International following the acquisition of assets from longtime IMSA entrant van der Steur Racing.
The newly formed team will continue campaigning the Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo platform that van der Steur Racing has fielded in the GTD class over the past several seasons. While the program retains the same machinery, it arrives with a fresh identity, including a new car number and branding. The team will debut the No. 068 Aston Martin sporting a temporary all-white “Car Blanche” livery, which will remain in place until YRB unveils its permanent design later this season.
YRB will also continue to field a GT4 program in IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge competition. The team’s Aston Martin Vantage GT4 will carry the new No. 66 and compete under the same “Car Blanche” banner.
Along with the cosmetic changes, the team will feature an updated driver lineup. Valentin Hasse-Clot is the lone driver to transition from van der Steur Racing to YRB Racing. He will be joined by Trenton Estep, who is set to make his first IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship start since 2023, and Marius Fossard, who will make his series debut this weekend.
Estep has competed with van der Steur Racing in Michelin Pilot Challenge competition this season and will continue in that role as YRB assumes control of the former GT4 program. Fossard arrives after primarily competing in the European Le Mans Series and recently made his 24 Hours of Le Mans debut with Racing Spirit of Léman earlier this month.
“First and foremost, we would like to thank Gunnar and Rory for their support over the past six seasons. Starting in TCR and making it all the way to GTD in our fifth season was an amazing journey,” said Christopher Deely, who will remain team principal moving forward. “We are ready to apply all of our experience from van der Steur Racing to grow YRB Racing with our customers and partners as we push for a winning future.”
YRB Racing’s first on-track appearance comes Friday at 11:25 a.m. ET with a 90-minute practice session. Qualifying is scheduled for Saturday at 3:40 p.m. ET before the team makes its IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship race debut in Sunday’s Sahlen Six Hours of The Glen, which begins at 12:10 p.m. ET.
