SRO has unveiled its 2027 season calendars for GT World Challenge America, GT America, GT4 America, and TC America, featuring the return of a fan-favorite circuit and a significant race format change.
The schedule was revealed during SRO’s “State of the Sport” address during this weekend’s CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa, which highlighted the organization’s championship calendars and announced several new partnerships set to begin in the coming months and throughout the 2027 season.
Seven rounds of racing are scheduled for 2027, beginning with SRO America’s only West Coast stop at Sonoma Raceway on April 2-4.
The series then heads to Texas for an all-new eight-hour endurance race at Circuit of The Americas (COTA) on May 7-9. The Texas 8 Hour replaces the traditional October endurance event at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. As a result, Sebring International Raceway has been dropped from the calendar after serving as the series’ Mother’s Day weekend venue for the past several seasons.
As in previous years, the race will serve as the North American round of the Intercontinental GT Challenge, continuing the championship’s tradition of hosting a single U.S. endurance event on its global calendar.
The calendar continues its fresh look with Watkins Glen International returning for the first time since 2022 on May 21-23. The 3.4-mile circuit in New York’s Finger Lakes region will host all four multi-class SRO America championships next season.
The season continues with a return to Road Atlanta following its successful return to the schedule this year—its first event there since 2011—on June 18-20. After a summer break, the championship resumes at Road America on August 27-29 before visiting Barber Motorsports Park on September 10-12.
The 2027 season once again concludes at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on October 1-3. However, instead of the traditional eight-hour endurance race, the finale will be contested as a three-hour event. COTA’s Texas 8 Hour will stand as the only eight-hour race on the SRO America calendar in 2027.
The schedules for Toyota GR Cup North America and McLaren Trophy America have yet to be announced and will be released at a later date.
Alongside the 2027 calendar announcement, SRO also revealed a collaborative partnership with IMSA for the annual Balance of Performance Test at Daytona in December. The initiative will allow SRO and IMSA to share GT3 performance data across both championships, helping establish a common baseline for all participating manufacturers
The 2026 SRO America season continues at Road America, when the series’ all return from their summer-long break, August 28-30.
