Fog has temporarily halted proceedings at the ADAC 24h Race at the Nürburgring. At 21:30 CEST the decision was to bring out the red flag following an increase of fog. Race control had attempted to keep the race going with Code 60 Zones where fog banks reduced visibility for marshals and drivers but with more and more Code 60 Zones appearing, tyre temperatures began dropping to dangerously low levels on the already slippery track.

An update on the situation will be published at 22:30 CEST.

UPDATE 22:30 CEST: The race will not be resumed before 7:00 CEST Sunday morning, with a decision made at 6:00 CEST.

The red flag came out with exactly 18 hours to go. At the time, Adam Christodoulou was in his first stint, leading the race in the #4 Mercedes-AMG Team HRT Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo and running half a minute ahead of the out-of-sync #20 Schubert Motorsport BMW M6 GT3 of Alexander Sims.

Kim Luis Schramm, in third place aboard the #11 Phoenix Racing Audi R8 LMS GT3 is currently third and in a more or less same pitstop rhythm as the leader as well as the fourth-placed #98 Rowe Racing BMW M6 GT3 of Sheldon van der Linde.

The #911 Manthey Racing Porsche 991.2 GT3R, however, is the only one in the top 5 to be on the exact same pitstop strategy as the leader, currently placed fifth with Matteo Cairoli at the wheel. After a thunderous opening salvo, the Porsche has slowly been losing time to its early-race rival for the last two hours but will have the gap closed at the restart.
