Ever since winning the Nürburgring 24 Hours in 2016, Adam Christodoulou has been chasing his second triumph. Always a contender for the win and coming close many times since, bad luck has kept him from becoming the first British driver to put two ‘N24’ titles to his name. Back this year aboard the #4 Mercedes-AMG Team HRT Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo with his trusty teammates Maro Engel and Manuel Metzger with whom he won five years ago, and again joined by Luca Stolz, Adam gives it another go.

Adam Christodoulou: “Yesterday [Thursday] was pretty good. We went out in the morning and the #6 [Mercedes-AMG Team HRT, sister car] was quickest which was great because they were still trying to fight for their position in top qualifying. We were just circulating — or at least we were yesterday morning — and then in the night we thought, right lets push and see what we’ve got, but we seemed to struggle. I think our car works better in the hotter conditions compared to some of the other brands, so the hotter the race the better but this is the Nürburgring so more than likely it’s going to rain.

“The Lamborghini’s time was incredible, I don’t think there is any chance we can do that right now but we’ll see. Today it will rain lots and lots so it’ll be interesting to see how we get on in the super wet conditions.”
