Ben Tuck: “Wow, where do I start? You saw the weather yourself, it was absolutely crazy. It’s lucky that all cars got to do at least one lap before the rain hit, but it’s a real shame that for whatever reason we didn’t make it into the top four to make it through to the final Top Qualifying shoot-out. It’s unfortunate…

“To be honest, I’m really confused about this qualifying set-up. They didn’t do this last year, but I don’t understand how there are some cars already qualified for Top shoot-out 2. I think it has to do with the difference between the Pro, Pro-Am and Am classes. I think they automatically qualified some Am cars ahead of the Pros even from the 6-hour [Qualifying Race]. It was really, really unfortunate for us because we were P8 in that session, and if you take out the Pro-Am and Am cars that we would be faster than of the Top 20 shoot-out, then we would be in the shoot-out. It’s a strange system and I don’t know why it’s been like this this year – but I don’t want to moan about it too much.

“We’re starting from 24th place so it’s not the end of the day.

“It’s not the end of the race, it hasn’t even started yet. We know we can still push from there and look for a result. Hopefully we’ll have a bit more pace in the race as well. Christian is literally one of the fastest guys around the Nürburgring so to be 6 seconds off in that session, there’s something else that we need help with, we’re not too sure.

“On a more positive note, the car is back in one piece. Starting just outside of the top 20, we can still fight tomorrow in what looks to be pretty miserable conditions anyway. We know that our weakness are the conditions in the wet, so once it dries up in the race tomorrow that will definitely be the time when we’re looking to come through.

“Look out for us in the night stints! If it dries up, that’s when we’ll be coming!”
