Johor Motorsports Racing celebrated a hard-earned Pro-Am Cup victory at the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa 2026 after recovering from multiple setbacks throughout the race. For Ben Green, however, the result was about more than just winning. The British driver believes the team’s biggest achievement was the progress they made together during one of the toughest events of the season.
“We couldn’t use the Prologue so much, unfortunately. But we used our time as efficiently as we could this week and made a lot of steps forward.”
Johor Motorsports Racing arrived at Spa with limited preparation after the #0 Johor Motorsports Racing Corvette Z06 GT3.R was damaged during the official Prologue. Despite the lack of running before race week, the team gradually improved the car and remained competitive throughout the event.
The race itself was far from straightforward. Shortly after the opening Safety Car period, Green was involved in contact with an Audi, resulting in the team’s first penalty. Johor Motorsports Racing later received another penalty for speeding under Full Course Yellow conditions.
Another tense moment came during the night when Ye Hongli’s High Class Racing Porsche made contact with Prince Jefri Ibrahim. Fortunately, the incident caused no significant damage, allowing the team to continue its recovery.
Despite those setbacks, Johor Motorsports Racing stayed consistent over the remaining hours. Clean pit stops, disciplined strategy, and strong pace helped the #0 Johor Motorsports Racing Corvette Z06 GT3.R fight back into Pro-Am contention.
During the final hours, Johor Motorsports Racing battled the #999 GetSpeed PCX Mercedes-AMG for the class lead before gradually pulling away. The Corvette eventually built a comfortable advantage and crossed the finish line three laps ahead of High Class Racing, while GetSpeed PCX completed the Pro-Am podium.
Learning together at Spa
Green described the weekend as another valuable learning experience for Johor Motorsports Racing, which was only competing at Spa-Francorchamps for the second time.
“It was still a big learning curve for the team, even though it’s only our second year racing here.”
Although his primary role is behind the wheel, Green enjoys contributing beyond driving by working closely with the engineers throughout the race weekend.
“First and foremost, I’m a driver, but I really enjoy supporting the engineers and helping with the structure of things. I definitely feel like I can contribute, and I really enjoy that.”
The British driver also praised the atmosphere within Johor Motorsports Racing, saying the entire team continues to develop together as the programme grows.
“It’s a great environment where the team brings me in and lets me work with them so closely. We’ve all been growing together with this new program.”
Following a demanding month of racing, Green is now looking forward to a short break before returning to competition.
“I’ve got a few weeks off to recover. June has been quite busy as well.”
Johor Motorsports Racing’s Pro-Am victory at Spa was the reward for a weekend built on resilience. From a disrupted Prologue and race penalties to several on-track incidents, the team remained composed and executed its strategy well, securing one of its biggest endurance racing successes to date.
